We are having trouble changing our pool type to salt cell and also would like the calculations for liquid acid. This only gives the recommendation for dry muriatic acid. Would rather not have to calculate that somewhere else. Great concept but not quite there yet. We like the visual effect of strip itself.
This app does exactly what it says it will do! It is very easy and far superior to other test strip apps I have tried. They do not even make you sign up for an account, so all you do is download the app and it's ready to use. You enter your pool information, and it gives you your gallons. After you enter your test strip information, it tells you exactly how much of each chemical to add. THANK YOU AQUA CHEK!
I'm not impressed with this app. Most importantly, the advice it gives is WRONG. I entered that I had an alkalinity level of 199, and a ph of 7.2 for my 24' pool (roughly 13,600 gal.). The report told me that I needed to add 17 lbs. 2 oz. of dry acid to the pool to lower the alkalinity!!! That would probably melt the vinyl in my pool. The app is also buggy, and some basic functionality is missing. For instance, the decimal point button is missing where you input the chlorine levels. For those of us using a low chlorine system, that decimal point is important. AquaCheck makes a great digital tester, and I haven't had any problems with their other products. Too bad that they didn't spend more time on this app.
