Somewhat okay, does not explain well, and out of order. There are several bugs and the pause button does not work. Terrible and not worth it.
We really like this app to teach our two children abacus at home. They are motivated to rescue the princess so it is relatively fun for them to work towards that goal. My kids are still young so the game is a little too fast paced. To resolve this, I pause the game often to allow them the chance to work out a problem on a physical abacus as needed. Once they rescue the princess, I plan to have them go through the program again without pausing to work on their speed. My only complaint is that the app freezes sometimes and we have to turn the iPad off and on again to unfreeze the app and resume play. Still, it is worth the trouble and this is one of my favorite abacus apps out there. We have multiple iPads now so it's no longer an issue, but it would be nice to offer individual student profiles within the app. That would be helpful to families with multiple children. We started out by using the Talking Abacus app familiarize them and to teach them to count to 100 on it. This app was an excellent next step to continue their learning once they understood the basics.
