The wonky English and unfriendly interface were a nuisance, but still bearable. But the QR code payment feature has been unavailable for ages now, making the app as useful as wet tissue paper.

Most horrendous user interface, english menu is difficult to understand. I wouldn't have signed up to be icbc customer if I knew the bank is so outdated. Anyway,I doubt the bank is reading the reviews since the mobile app is likely developed out from Beijing without understanding their international customers' needs.

Since the last update, the app refuses to open. No transaction can be made because the app is also the e-token. Very frustrating, nothing can be done now.

ICBC service is excellent. I especially enjoy working with the WeChat person.(didn’t get her name.) She is wonderful, patient very knowledgeable and helpful. I’m happy I chose this bank as my bank for 7-1/2 years.

I had to manually re-enter my password every time I logged in, but the password keyboard layout was always changing, which often led to my continuous wrong entry. After three wrong entries, my account was frozen, and then I had to call the branch that handled my account, but the branch that handled my account was closed all year round. These Chinatown customer service staff, they can barely speak English or Chinese, and communicating with them is a disaster.

As an expat in China this is the bank my company chose to go with. It is essentially good for checking my balance so I know how much I have and can transfer out of the country. Everything else is pretty wonky and useless. Some thoughts on how to improve: 1) Get rid of the unconventional keyboard for logins. It doesn’t help with security it just makes my logins longer. If ICBC is committed to security try modeling the login after the 2 step verification that other banking apps have. 2) End the illusion of overseas remittance. I doubt anyone is actually able to do it over the app It’s unfortunate that this banking app isn’t on par with other banking apps. I have a few others that provide great service and really make it worth your while to use them. Maybe someday.
