I always come back to this game because of itโs simplicity, itโs really easy to play while youโre not really thinking about it - but you can also have control so i think that gives a great balance to keep me playing. I like the ship progression and that it is far from all the other pay to play games. This game is very unique and that keeps me coming back and downloading itโฆ I like the additions in the past couple years, like the base system which reminds me a lot of another gameโฆ one that is way too complicated, time consuming, and lacks the rewards that Stellar Wind has, the only thing i would like to see is more of a carrier system, i would like to see drones as a ship weapon that help defend cruisers against fighters, and i think anyone would like to see a bigger class like battlecruiser or battleship. I think Stellar Wind is a unique and well balanced game that doesnโt get too complicated or boring quickly.
First off this is an idle game. Sure there is a lot you can do but itโs still an idle game. You have to have patience just to let the resources stack up and upgrade stuff. That being said, I still get great entertainment out of it and watching the space battles is a fantastic time killer. It does have in app purchases but unless itโs a ship you really want the other stuff can be ignored. Honestly nothing stops you from having a great time without spending any money but everyone knows there are going to be those that do. In regards to that, arena battles against other players allows you to pick who to fight and you can see what your up against beforehand so you can avoid anything that you think is gonna wreck your fleet. Great game, will continue to enjoy!
but this game is very hard to play as a f2p, theres a ridiculously minimal amount of progression over a long period of time, dont get unless you're willing to put in the time to grind dailies or just drop some cash on a couple packs. the gameplay can be interactive for tougher battles, choosing which ships target what enemy ships, but at many points i've found myself just spamming the battle button in the campaign mode because i've hit a wall and the rng has a slight chance of winning a battle. for all the pve content, you end up running into many of these walls that you literally cannot progress through, and often times more than not, most other options you have to play end up netting similar results. i think if there was a "random battle" gamemode that would match up a very similar level of ships and could net you a small amount of progressive rewards (modules, lowest level squadron materials so you could at least upgrade your lower tier stuff, research materials) i think i'd find this game more engaging, but for now it remains an app i open for 20-30 minutes just to collect the dailies, attempt the very overleveled PvE campaign, fail, and get annoyed and play something else. besides that, well done with the soundtrack and the visuals, and the ship design for a lot of the ships look fantastically amazing
