Reviews: What People Think About Ready-2-Serve

R2S is very convenient and gives just enough functionality to lure you into thinking you can get a task done without a Windows computer. I frequently end up regretting I wasted time trying this use it and have to start over on a laptop. - text dictation is not functional. I try it to bark out an email and for some reason the process aborts after maybe one word and the cursor jumps somewhere else in the email. This native feature works fine in all my other apps (except Sub Rosa). - spend more than just a couple minutes working on an email, and something times-out with the email server — Can’t send that email. Can’t save that email as draft. And.... you might try to copy the drafted text to the clipboard, but the app clears the clipboard when closed. I’ve lost everything too many times. - hyperlinks in emails are disabled. You can’t copy text out of emails. You can’t enter a URL anywhere to browse an arbitrary page. The hard wired links give access to maybe 10% of DoD websites. Outside of that, you’re blocked. ( cetars, entrs, and iconnect are frequent problems for me)

I have been having trouble accessing the EDM portion on NSIPS to reschedule drills. When I try to open the page I get a pop up blocked error. This issue has been going on since 2018! An update with fixes to this problem was supposed to come out at the end of the 2019 year, but there has been no improvements made! When will this issue be fixed? If we can’t do what we need to do when we need to do it, what is the point of our military having R2S as a tool?

I was impressed that this actually came together considering all of the different websites needed in the navy reserve along with the CAC requirement. Some websites are still not mobile friendly, which is not this developer’s fault, but R2S can be used to navigate them in a pinch regardless. I am also only able to encrypt email through R2S from home, so that is one clear advantage of this app. Customer service is also prompt for the hardware. After the lighting port broke on an iPad reader I had purchased, Thursby covered the replacement under the warranty and shipped me a new one free of charge.
