Reviews: What People Think About Sonobit - Remote for Sonos

Like this app and use it quite a bit although it's quite limited in what it can do. When it works, however, it's a true convenience to have on the watch - very handy. My biggest gripe is that too often it stops working and the only fix I've found is to delete it entirely and then re-install it. Also, I see there's been no update for a year?? Question for developer: Why no update in so long and are you going to be upgrading the app soon w/more features or are you about to do away with it altogether - hence why no updates? Thanks and again, folks on the fence about this app, it's very worth having for the times it works for you in spite of it only offering the most basic of Sonos features. Hope the answer to my developer's question above is that the app will be upgraded soon and that it has a long life ahead! :-))

I can’t believe I just heard about this app after Googling “how to get Apple Watch to work with Sonos”. I was skeptical to purchase based on the reviews, but people leaving anything less than a 4 are nuts. I have an Apple Watch Gen3 with a iPhone X, for the sole purpose to control my Sonos setup with my watch. It blows my mind that Sonos didn’t include this capability, but someone created it and capitalized on it, and it does just what I need: volume control, pause, skip forward and back, while showing you the song info.
A nice future capability would be a volume slider control vs. tapping the volume up and down in increments. Some people want to be able to group and ungroup speakers, which is a nice to have, but how often are you doing that on a daily basis? I’m sitting on my couch, listening to my station, on the speakers I want, and have the watch control to make the adjustments listed above without reaching for my phone.
Another more important capability would be for the app to always be displayed on the watch as it does when you connect to a Bluetooth speaker, as opposed to having to hit the app button and reopen the app.
Overall this app is a hit and a must have if you have the Apple Watch, and I’m telling all of my friends.

Extremely easy set up. Was impressed that it was not necessary to provide Sonos login credentials. Just install the app, add the widget, and your are done. The app provides very basic controls (pause, play, previous track, next track). You can also switch between speakers including speaker groups. The watch app also works well with the same functionality.
To make this a 5 star app I would really like to see volume controlled by the watch crown, a watch complication that would quickly take you to the Apple Watch app, and the ability to initiate and/or switch Sonos favorites (playlists, stations, etc.). It appears the only way to change what is playing is to open the native Sonos app.

In rare cases, Sonobit is unable to automatically discover Sonos devices. This may be because UPnP is not enabled on your router. If Sonobit says "No Sonos system available", you can manually add your Sonos devices. Start the Settings app on your iPhone/iPad and tap Sonobit. Follow the instructions there for adding your devices and finish by launching the Sonobit iPhone/iPad app once for the settings to take effect.
