Even with Face ID, the app is annoying...Face ID does not actually log you in. But I guess it prevents yet another 4 steps to get logged on. I’m happy that TANs can get generated via an App since that’s about the most annoying thing they have in Germany but the interface between the “Banking app” and TAN app sometimes has hiccups. Really the whole login process (website and App) is super inconvenient, complicated and annoying. German efficiency has not really transitioned over to internet stuff, not even for the former “modern” DKB. Better not forget your password, especially when you don’t live in Germany, it is SO complicated to get the permission to reset it. Argh. I’m also quite annoyed that I originally signed up with them for their interest rates...as of 1/1/20=0%. Hope to find a better bank soon!

I have spent so many hours trying to log in, switching from app to app (yes you need two apps to just do simple things). The mobile view is way too complicated, not easy to navigate and even when you log in or type in TANs you’re getting asked again to type in the exact same things. I don’t understand why internet banking has to be this complicated in 2022.

This will be a bit harsh, but I believe the people responsible for this will agree with me. The app is a 1:1 clone of the banking/online banking website, which by itself is not the most modern one. But you can imaging the work that went into this app was minimal. Makes sense since they offer a free account so what should one expect. But for example one nasty “feature” is that you cannot login using faceID. The passwords are also not preset und you need to type in everytime or go via the iCloud password manager. Then it needs a separate tan-generator app instead of integrating the two - the ultimate clutter. Connecting your visa to Apple Pay isn’t working properly either. This app is so bad I am considering to switch the bank just because of it. This app feels like 2005 not 2021.
