As a Coach I've used this app to mass communicate by both text and email to players and parents of my high school athletic teams. This is not easily done with native iPhone features. It's great to easily create and select pre-determined contacts from my address book and set up groups like "parents", "players" or "both" and even further segregate by sub groups like JV and Varsity. Among my favorite features is when sending out a mass text, individual replies to me don't get copied to or seen by the whole list of recipients - just me as the original sender. If you've ever been group-texted and you start seeing responses from all sorts of unknown people (text numbers) that aren't in your contact list you know that can get annoying and confusing. This app eliminates that problem. Highly recommend!

This app is a life saver if you have AT&T as they limit the number of recipients you can text at one time. One thing to note is that if any of your contacts change cell numbers, you have to go into the Text2Group Pro app and delete the contact and add them back in from your phone contacts in order to update the cell number for group texting.
Also, for those complaining about having to go in and uncheck landlines, home, work, etc., before texting to a group, you need to click on the up-arrow at the bottom right of the screen, then you can choose to select just mobile numbers. Had me confused for a while too! Im on version 7.5 and I see there is an update so we will see what improvements that will bring.

Sometimes the messages just don't go through. I'm not talking about when I forget to turn off my group messaging, I'm talking about messages just getting lost in outer space. I always limit messages to 160 characters so that no matter what carrier someone has, they come through nicely instead of broken up mid-sentence. So I just sent a three part message, and only the 2nd one went through on my phone (I always include my number in the groups so I know if they went through). All three were important, and now I have to wonder how many people got all three and how many only got one.
Another down side, tons of people have told me they get duplicates of my messages back to back. I'm probably switching to Remind's app.
