Let me begin with the PROS. This app is HIGHLY useful for medical professionals! Assessment questions are all here! You can get a lot of information from your Spanish-speaking patient just by using this app. It also has clear audio that speaks slowly. There are categories and a search box so you can quickly get to the material you need. Get this app but unless you are highly bothered by the ads, you can make the in-app purchase.
Now the CONS. You get everything you need for free and nothing changes but the removal of ads. If the ads bother you that much, then make the purchase, but they really weren’t that frequent. I purchased the app with the hopes that the flash card option would be fixed, it wasn’t. That is the only problem with this app... the flash card section is highly inefficient. And purchasing the app did not give you anymore access other than what was there for free. So I actually wasted my money, you get a lot on here for free and I am disappointed about the purchase when I could’ve kept my $2.99. If you’re wanting to charge others for this app, I suggest you add more capabilities like quizzes and/or update the flash card section so that we can actually flip through several cards and not continue to click the same section title to obtain a card. That is not how flash cards are supposed to work.

This is a great app. I am a nurse anesthetist and have a difficult time interviewing spanish speaking patients coming in for surgery. I love the audio option available in the upgrade along with the bookmarks. Only suggestion is to have a search option and categorize bookmarks so it is easier to locate frequently used phrases. I love the anesthesia category! Hopefully there will be more phrases added in the future. I would love to suggest some more. Perhaps have a separate app just for anesthesia related terms. I would buy it! Thanks!

This is an excellent resource for basic medical Spanish. The app contains great info for many types assessment used in nursing. Of course it is not a complete list of everything but great for being a free app. You can even search within the app to find a term quickly and tap for the audio.

The Emergency Medical Spanish Guide (EMSG) is a tool designed for non-Spanish speaking health Care professionals to quickly ascertain vital medical information from their Spanish speaking patients.
