This game is quite straightforward. Your agents are special operatives; they need to accomplish their objective, which is likely getting info from a VIP, neutralizing an enemy, defusing a bomb, or identifying a specific enemy. While this game is free, if you want a better experience like a level-designer or many special operatives (more than 4), you can choose to support the developer, who by the way does not put ads in the game. You can set up a quick game that isn’t a level, and you can adjust a few settings to customize it to your liking. I personally use that feature a lot, especially if I am waiting for something and only have maybe 5 minutes or a bit more. The developer makes some pretty fun games, and this game is no exception. This game is probably tied with the developer’s other game Antiyoy. In the future, I think it would be cool to see a 2-player addition to this game, where you and a friend could play together on separate devices or the same device (I don’t have a specific image in mind) or maybe the players would compete somehow. Either way, this game is very sophisticated for what it is.

A long time ago, I bought a game called breach and clear on the App Store. It was a tactical game where you controlled a swat team and you had to perform various counter terrorist missions. Sadly, a company called game club now owns the rights to Breach and clear and charges a subscription fee for access to their collection. Breach and Clear was and still is one of my favorite games, but it is seemingly obvious that Vodobanka is a true passion project by the developer. It is simple, easy to get into, incredibly fun, and can hold one’s attention for hours on end. I love the core gameplay, and all of the mini games are a nice addition that give me something to play for a couple minutes if I get bored. I love the mission variety and the accessibility for user created levels. Best of all, it is completely free, with no ads, no micro-transactions etc. It’s like the developer had a dream, realized it, and then decided to make a gift out of their hours of work. I have not found a single bug, and I have spent hours playing this game. I always wondered if I could find a mobile game this good, and then Vodobanka showed up in “more games you might like” and I decided to give it a try. I would strongly recommend this game to anyone who reads this and is thinking NV about giving it a try.

This game is really cool, I only have a few criticisms. Firstly I wish there were different “themes” I’m not a huge fan of the hand drawn art style but this is just a personal preference. Second this game has no iPad app which isn’t a real problem since the game takes up most of the screen anyways. My final issue is that I use the storm room function a lot and I almost always want to arrest everyone afterwards but the arrest everyone option is at the bottom of the drop down menu. I don’t know if this is a problem exclusively for iPad but it just hurts your wrist after a while. I’m going into computer science and this game really inspired me. I hope that one day I can make something like this.
