This app is awesome! Especially for the price! Most parental control apps this advanced are $30 or more a month. This is around the same, but you also get Norton 365 and Norton lifelock. Protect your kids, your identity, and your technology all for a cheaper price than one of these types of programs would cost! On this Parental Control App you can have multiple kids and customize each one. You can monitor everything they do on their phone or computer and see their location. You can set bed times, and school times. During those times you can set emergency contacts and websites that can be accessed, like making canvas or an mouse accessible during school hours. You can set how many hours they are allowed total in a day and in a week. So say your kid is allowed 35 hours a week, up to 5 hours a day, but they choose to use there 35 hours in the first 5 days, they won’t be able to go on it the last 2 days without asking your permission. They can send a request through the app and you can approve or deny it. You can pick categories that are allowed or not allowed, and/or allow certain websites but place a warning on them letting your kids know that it well let you know and show them what they were doing. The customization is incredible once you get the hang of it. It does take some practice to get used to, but once you do, the possibilities are endless!
I have been looking for a way to lock down my teens laptop so she can use it for education and research, and sometimes appropriate entertainment. This is it! I can set and change “house rules” I can monitor what she is doing, I can Controll the times she is allowed on it and separately how much time she is allowed on it. She can send me requests if she needs an extension in time or is blocked from a site that she legitimately needs to be on. I can first go to that web site and see it then accept or deny her request. You can set restrictions by preset categories and or allow or bock individual sites. You can set it to automatically block sites or just monitor, or set it so will give them a warning that it is a site they are not supposed to be on, they can go on that site but you are sent a notification, again with a link to that site so you can go to the site and see it for yourself. My only complaint is that she can disable the browser so it can not be monitored, but if she does this I am sent a notification immediately, I can then just lock her out with one swipe. All notifications are immediately sent to my phone so where ever I am away I can quickly see what she is doing and easily change settings. You can add several devices for several different kids. This is a must have! I have tried so many things, I am not tech savvy and always worry that she can out smart me. Well with this app she can try but I am notified and I can just lock her out if I don’t like what she is doing.
Lots of glitches, and doesn’t work consistently on different windows platforms. Also, it doesn’t allow your computer to self update for time change. We moved states, and it took forever to get it to change. Even the help line on norton couldn’t assist me. This product needs more thought put into it for easy changes. I also would like the feature to block add ons to the web browser. Children can add inappropriate games to the browser tab bypassing the monitoring of this program. The limiting of General types of websites is useful. The thing I do like is the phone app which allows quick lock of computer. Overall fairly useful but could be much better given other programs from this company.
