After setting an appointment with Setter several weeks out to repair an appliance, I stayed home all day for my repair person to arrive. When they never buzzed my apartment during the window they were forecasted by Setter to arrive, I quickly contacted Setter, but didn’t hear back from them for over an hour. The repair person didn’t know how to contact me apparently once he arrived at my building, though it’s obvious one needs to dial up the apartment on the front console. First time in ten years in my place I had a problem like this. Bottom line is that Setter did not communicate with the repair person when the apparent hiccup occurred, he left the premises, and thus I wasted my day waiting. Setter admitted dropping the ball but their solution was to offer a small rebate on future work and to reschedule, which would have likely been more weeks of waiting and no guarantee of them successfully working out simple logistics. The old fashion way of dealing directly with someone seems to still be much better as an option.

I used setter to do a number of small jobs. The work went well. The negatives are: 1) I provided a credit card for payment. I was charged without ever receiving an invoice. I keep records on repairs. Called multiple times. Never got any invoice matching charge to credit card The quoted amounts disappeared from the app. I think they billed me correctly but not 100 % sure 2) I have received an invoice from one of the service providers addressed to ny contact Ian schover at setter but sent to my address. I can’t seem to contact setter through app. Setter is Toronto based solely I am going to try to reach out to corporate

Submitted an inquiry about an electrical problem and they scheduled me a visit 2 weeks out. When the day came for the visit they gave me the wrong time window so I waited around at home for 2 hours and nobody showed up. Once they were able to show up (4 hours late) I was not available. They first told me they could schedule me next-day, then the next day came and they told me the earliest they could reschedule (after this mistake their end) was a week later. Incredibly unprofessional and inconvenient to work with. Use someone else.
