Reviews: What People Think About UPRIGHT GO 1

I’ve been slouching for almost 20 years. I started as a teenager and have a severely curved upper back (I’d say extreme thoracic kyphosis at this point). Over the past few years I’ve started exercising my back muscles to improve posture, but strengthening the muscles seemed to provide a minimal benefit as I’d start slouching again as soon as I left the gym, which I suspect kept my posture the same. I’ve been wearing the upright go for several weeks and for the first time in 2 decades I feel like my posture is improving. For the first week my upper back was exhausted from trying to stand up straight, but the muscles seem to be adjusting and I’m able to stand without slouching now! Well, that’s not entirely true. My back is so curved from years of slouching (and probably some genetics) that without a shirt on the curve/hunch in my upper back is still clear, but when wearing a t-shirt I look like I’m more or less standing/sitting with good posture. My hips, shoulders, and ears are in line, as they should be according to this app. The upright go made this improvement possible. Remembering to not slouch has been my biggest problem for all these years, which is easily solved by a slight vibration from this device. It’s not perfect, of course, as it vibrates when I tie my shoes or if I slump into a couch and recline it can’t tell I’m slouching. However, I’d say for 60% of my day it reminds me when I slouch, which has made a huge improvement in my posture.

I am a 62 year old female who has lived with kyphosis (hunched shoulders) my whole life. I would try to stand up straight whenever someone, or myself would tell me to. Unfortunately that thought would not last very long and I would be slouching again. If given the choice of being the perfect weight (I’m chubby) or having good posture, I would choose good posture. I know without intervention my posture will continue to decline as I age. Yes, the Upright-Go came to my rescue. Through behavioral modification and strengthening of less-used muscles, my posture is changing...my subconscious behavior is acting as a reminder when the device is not on my back. In my monthly visit to my chiropractor visit four days ago, he observed a change in my spine! He says my shoulders are more even with each other and my spine is straightening. He plans to X-ray me next month to confirm and observe what he felt in the examination. He has been monitoring my progress and may soon be recommending the Upright Go-Pro to his other patients based on my success. Also, customer support was there for me, checking on me, offering tips, the whole journey. Another bonus, I’m getting used to feeling like I’m taller because when I look down at the ground, it’s farther away, like when I wear high heel shoes. Looking taller, thus slimmer, is the Holy Grail of most women... sign me up! I love you guys forever. I never knew this could happen to me. Signed, Linda

This is my second go at better posture and I have a more patient attitude toward the reminders this guy sends because I truly want to train myself to have better posture naturally. That habit to slouch or just roll my shoulders forward isn’t doing me any good and this guy reminds me to stand up tall and engage my core and be upright. Keep this in mind when purchasing, it’s a tool that will guide your journey but it won’t magically give you better posture. It’s hard, sitting up straight is quite literally harder than doing an hour + workout. First time was so frustrating that I liked my poor posture better, I wanted the idea of better posture except I didn’t even put the work in. So in 2 days since I’ve been wearing it, it’s hit me at points (when it’s on tracking or not on me) that I instinctively know to now sit or stand upright and be more conscious how my back is feeling and what angles I’m putting it at. Good stuff and I recommend!
About UPRIGHT GO 1
Your UPRIGHT GO is worn discreetly on your upper back and provides you with immediate posture feedback.

In TRAINING mode, the GO vibrates gently when you slouch to remind you to maintain an upright posture. The vibration can be easily customized to best fit your personal lifestyle and preferences. In TRACKING mode, the GO keeps track of your daily posture habits without vibrating.

The UPRIGHT GO mobile app is where you’ll find tutorials to guide you along with daily statistics to track your progress and live monitoring of your posture status using an animated character.

The app generates a personalized training plan customized to meet your individual needs, including a set of daily training goals. Each goal represents your recommended daily training time.

In the Apple Watch app, you can view your current posture status, switch between TRAINING and TRACKING modes, and get live training feedback on the go.

The app also writes your workout data to the Health app (HealthKit) to enable integration between workouts and Upright training.
