From the art style to the gameplay this game screams of a fun and premium experience. The developer also listens to his players and there are options to play the game using cool tilt controls OR a really nicely done on screen joystick. There are options for pretty much every aspect of gameplay so you can set it up how you'd like to play. The gameplay itself is intense and gives you that Arcade, one more go, feel to it. It's a shmup but it's not your average one. Your co pilot has a sceptre that can turn back time when you get blown up lol. You can do loops to get out of bad situations. There are so many different power ups as well. It's just a really fun experience. It is absolutely worth its price. Thank you dev for a fun game and for a premium experience. We need to support devs like this who choose not to go the freemium route.

StarSceptre is beautiful. The storyline is great and clearly explains the existence of infinite lives. The characters remind me of Robotech; the protagonist harkens back to Rick Hunter and though the female lead looks more like Ling Ming-mei, she is more like Lisa Hayes. The controls are smooth and perfectly adapted to touch and tilt. Finally the developer is approachable and responsive. StarSceptre is a wonderful experience, you’ll not be disappointed.

Great retro game with awesomely crafted cut-scenes. However, the controls make this game pretty unplayable. Similar games in this genre allow the player to auto-fire their weapons, requiring only one finger to steer the ship, but this game requires one finger to steer, and second finger to fire your weapons. Not very convenient on a tiny iPhone. I guess the game is only $.99, so I guess what you get what you pay for. My recommendation would be to spend a little bit more money and buy a similar game that’s actually has the controls thought out.

With newly redesigned controls, Starsceptre is a pixelated retro shoot ’em up using touch to shoot your way through the game, testing your nerves and reactions to their limits.

With auto fire ALWAYS ON, you can use a second touch to stop firing, enabling you to wait for weapons to drop or to shoot only when you need to.

As the pilot, you awake suddenly in the cockpit of your Starfighter to find your short-term memory missing and your planet shattered into two halves.

Accompanied by a mysterious stowaway who wields the Starsceptre - a magical device that rewinds time - you must battle your way to defeating the evil Draxses.

Can you stop other planets from suffering the same fate?

Looking like one of those 8bit or 16 bit pixel games you loved as a kid, you'll relive 80s & 90s arcade memories on the go via your iPhone or iPad. And like all the classics, this game is easy to play, but difficult to master.
