I’m fast approaching my 40’s. I grew up during the golden eras of gaming. Lived, owned, and played though all the “retro” console generations. I adore gaming from that time, and games like this remind me of simpler times when you were home from school on a winter day with all your homework done playing through classic NES adventures. This little gem is a more forgiving version of Ghosts and Goblins. It’s very accessible and the controls are extremely tight. If you are afraid of touch controls for platformers, fear not! Very precise and accurate! The pixel art is done extremely well. All the little monsters are nicely designed and unique. The levels feature the same love and attention to detail. The music is cheery and well done. The overall level design is simple but thought out. I feel like the developer pour his/her heart and soul into this game. I wish iOS App Store was similar to the pre 64 bit upgrade where you could click on an game category and it shows ALL titles under the genre instead of the first 200 or so. Games like this sometimes get lost in the mix. I only noticed this SoX because it was recommended underneath a newer title. I had no idea this game existed. No IAP. One time purchase. No scams or artificial difficulties to hamper a player. Good wholesome retro fun. Thank you!! Buy this now. You won’t regret the purchase!

Very polished, clever platformer with flavor (I like the voiceovers and character names, as well as the appearance of the enemies in particular). I opted to use an MFi controller, so I can attest that it is very well implemented and makes the game a delight to play. I am also playing on an iPad Pro, so I can attest to the fact that the game looks and sounds good on a larger screen. I can't recall how I came across it, but am glad I did. It's a steal at a dollar with no ads or IAPs. Blessings to the developer for a delightful little adventure.

Now I’ve been changed completely as a gamer the last couple of years. This one isn’t a new new game that I fell in love with but one that dates back to 2015 when I visited my cousins and uncle for the holidays and staying up in the hotel playing this will always be a special memory. Now of course it’s a throwback to the classic style platformer rpg games on the nes and snes, etc. But I think it shines in the art style to me that is so unforgettable. The gameplay is top notch as well. It also is decently difficult atleast the last time I played it which was a couple years ago but just am getting into the swing of things again with this one. It’s just one of the those games that is a default for me when I have to choose set in stone games that I wouldn’t delete for extra space. As long as I have an iPhone sword of xolan will have a special place
