The idea around the purpose of the application is exciting for artists. Local small business owners are able to book entertainment via the application. I suppose the developer is paid twice once by the owner and once by the talent. Great idea for an application however the application itself is lackluster and presumably so because it is still in its infancy.
ShowSlinger is an easy and convenient app that has booked me numerous gigs at new venues! I’ve had nothing but a great experience with the app. The amount of venues it serves is quickly increasing and the ability to create a detailed profile in minutes makes musicians look great and professional! 5 stars from me.
The entire concept of Show Slinger is awful. It eliminates the personal nature of booking gigs at local venues and makes artists feel like a number in a queue. As an artist, you have to pay show slinger in order to book more than 2 shows each month. Do not only are they taking money from venues, but also from the artists. Also, NO ONE tips on the app. I mean can you imagine being at a bar, seeing a musician and saying to yourself “I don’t have any cash, but man I sure am glad I can pull out my phone, download an app, set up an account, etc, etc. all to leave this musician a dollar or two!”? Nope. Me neither. Lastly, the app is itself is subpar. Logos don’t appear in the right resolution for anything.
