Reviews: What People Think About Meditation Time 2.0

I really like this app. The sound is perfect for a calming and gentle lead into meditation which I think really helps get body and mind settled especially after a long and hectic da. Sound both before after and within facilitates meditation practice. I used to sit at a well known Zen Center in Rochester. There we had a large bell calling us to the Zendo about 15 or 20 minutes before the formal meditation started. Also a hand held bell was struck by one of the senior students in the Zendo right before we started each round of zazen, and also signaling us to start a round of kin hin or walkimg meditation and again when we were to return to sitting. At any rate, bells are a traditional part of zen practice and have been used for a couple thousand years. I have heard a lot of them and the sound created by this app is definitely one of the most pleasing.

I try to use this app regularly and it doesn’t work. Sometimes it won’t gong on the intervals. Sometimes it does. Today, it made popping noises during the interval gongs. It sounded like distortion or peaking in the audio recording of the gong. Very loud pops compared to the quiet gong. And then at the end of the meditation, the gong did not sound. I find this all very distracting and it makes it difficult to sink into my meditation. Especially not trusting it will go off when I set it. So I set a backup alarm now to go off when the app malfunctions. I’ve never used this app and had all features work as expected. My boyfriend introduced me to this app and it works beautifully on his phone and iPad. He has older versions of both. I have a very recent iPad and iPhone. Possibly why? I don’t know. But I wish it would work so I could create some consistency in my practice when we meditate together and when I meditate alone. I will change this review to more stars when it starts working better.

I started to consistently meditate last week. After doing the starter guided meditation for 30 minutes my body pains were gone that day. I haven’t felt pain free for many, many, months. Having my own business and dealing with clients add stress. Although I workout, apparently, I was not releasing mental stress. I had pain everywhere and I do not like to take drugs; therefore, I just deal with it. Some days, I do yoga ad gentle stretches too. But still most days I’m in pain. I can’t believe the very first day I did the guided meditation my body was so relaxed. It seems to be the only thing to give me deep stress relievers. I love the ability to use the background sounds and can rely on the timer to go off with the gong sounds I choose. So I am meditating daily anywhere between 15-30 minutes a day. Thank you developers. I appreciate this app. Namaste.
About Meditation Time 2.0
The ‘Meditation Time App’ provides you with a very useful tool to make your meditation even more mindful: Set the timer and let one of the many singing bowls and instruments remind you of the end of your meditation after the desired time.

If you wish, you can also set a mindfulness chime at any interval to gently bring you back to meditation if your thoughts do wander.
Pleasant nature sounds as switchable background sounds help you meditate when your mind (or your environment) is particularly restless.

Our guided meditations by professional speakers provide you with additional guidance and motivation for your daily meditation practice.

The ‘teaching’ provides a brief and undogmatic overview of the most important aspects of meditation practice and offers you inspiration and motivation for your regular meditation.

Conclusion: This app is perfect for you if you want to bring more mindfulness into your life with meditation. It doesn't matter whether you've never meditated before or are an old hand at meditation. By the way: since version 4.0, we have even built in special modes for the masters of meditation: the Master Mode for up to 4 hours of meditation at a time and the Zen Mode, which sounds the end chime three times.

With this in mind, I wish you: a peaceful mind and a calm disposition.

Why use a meditation app at all?
A meditation app offers a simple and accessible way to regularly integrate mindfulness and inner peace into your everyday life. It helps to reduce stress, promote concentration and increase general well-being. Especially in a hectic world where we are often overwhelmed by obligations and distractions, a meditation app helps to create moments of calm and to arrive in the here and now.

There is an important connection between meditation apps and the concept of MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction), a scientifically based method for reducing stress. MBSR uses mindfulness exercises such as meditation, breathing techniques and body scans to manage stress and chronic strain. Many meditation apps are based on similar principles and offer guided exercises that integrate the central elements of MBSR. This allows users to benefit from the proven techniques and integrate mindfulness into their everyday lives - whether to manage stress, improve sleep or promote serenity.
