I was at a friend's house today when her daughter wanted to bake a cherry pie which called for cornstarch. Of course they were out of cornstarch and a temper tantrum was on the horizon! I pulled out my phone to google a substitution and saw the Kitchen Swaps app I had just downloaded! They did have flour so we substituted the flour for the cornstarch using the correct ratio given in the app. The baking continued! She sent a piece over later and it was delicious.

I have already used this app many times for holiday cooking when I was missing an ingredient or two. It saved me a trip to the store (and gas money) and I thought the swapped ingredient tasted better in the recipe than the original ingredient! Highly recommended.

I know that I will get tons of use out of this app. It is easy to use, very intuitive. And has tons of great substitutions and ideas for alternative solutions.
The search capabilities in version 1.1 are more versatile.
