Update about the newest update: I'm so glad to have the classic colors and graphics back. It's still a little peppy and I miss my old game, but it's playable again. I haven't readdicted, but we shall see. Thank you for listening to our reviews and fixing the update debacle.
Drop 7 has been my addiction for at least 4 years. I play every day while I'm doing everything. I do NOT like the update! The graphics look ridiculous and make it hard to differentiate the colors without giving 100% focus. They also slow the game down big time. There is now a lag time in between the addition of rows and it's annoying. Why change something that worked great?! Hate the new music too. I never use the sound, but the old music was fun. Boooo hissss to the update!

Major kudos for listening to your customers. So glad you brought back the classic look of the game but please continue listening and don't stop at this modest effort. Honestly, for those of us who were so upset about the new look of the game, this classic color scheme does not go far enough to fix what you broke. There is still too much animation that is distracting. It slows down the game play of the chains b/c of that unnecessary twist and pop before the next ball "bounces" (still with the bouncing, what is it with the bouncing?) into existence at the top of the screen. The game itself also seems sluggish and much less responsive. And lastly the grid still seems much smaller but that could just be me.
I'll keep checking back but this still isn't back to being the game I loved and played daily. Fix the animations, ie. get rid of them, and fix the responsiveness. Oh and congrats on getting rid of the ads. I figured of everything, those were going nowhere, so good job but keep working.

The game is almost perfect, because it offers you just enough random chance to keep you adapting while offering you just enough strategy within your own locus of control to make you feel as if you can improve. The problem holding the game back is that it *always* throws random chance out of the window the moment you start doing really well. Things can be going along just fine, and suddenly, your field is packed with ten to fifteen ones, and your game is forced to end because the game essentially forced you to lose. This happens constantly.
I’ve installed and uninstalled this game multiple times over a number of years, and this core issue has never been addressed, which means this is how the game is designed to work. As such, I can’t really recommend it to anyone that isn’t a complete and utter masochist that wants to play a game that dangles a carrot on a stick as a means of luring them to keep playing, only to beat them with that stick for daring to think they could ever truly improve.
