My husband and I decided to make some changes to our life style in order to be healthier, more flexible, and lose the excess weight that had creeped up on both of us. Our formula was simple; we no longer snack between meals, stopped drinking milk, even on our oatmeal, eat less red meat, and for me, reduce alcohol consumption to maybe 3 glasses of red wine per week. If we didn’t feel like a meal, we skipped it. Most days we ate 3 meals a day. And here’s the big one, we started moving. Moving may be bringing in wood, or walking down to feed the horses but a goal of walking 2 miles every day. Unsurprisingly, the weight started dropping off. In 29 days I’m down 17 pounds. I was searching for an app that would only do a few things. I wanted to track my daily weight. I also wanted to set a weight loss goal. Finally I wanted to see a chart of my progress as I close in on my goal. This app gives me all three of those things I wanted. It doesn’t do ANYTHING else. No food intake, no questions about what exercise I had completed, no admonishments if I did not do something. It’s a pleasure to simply weigh myself daily and check on my goal. I upgraded to the full version after about three weeks. It was worth the small fee for a few more bells and whistles as well as less ads. Love this app!

This app helped me with my 30-lb. weight loss four years ago and, just as important, it has been extremely helpful in keeping my weight steady ever since. There have been some nice improvements and additions over the past few years, such as being able to track body fat and automatically calculate BMI; however, I’d love to also have the ability to track muscle mass. (My older Omron, non-Bluetooth, scale tracks weight, BMI, body fat, muscle, RM kcal, body age and visceral fat, so I always enter the extra stats into the “Notes” section of this app.) I have tried other weight-loss/weight-control apps, including a few that also synced with Apple Health, but Weight Diary is my absolute favorite and the only one I use every day. UPDATE 2023: Still love this app, but would love it even more if I could also track muscle mass, as well as weight, body fat, and BMI. Regardless, Weight Diary is a great app, so “TYVM!” and keep up the good work!😎

I looked into apps for monitoring my weight loss, but most had far more bells and whistles than I wanted. I want clarity, simplicity and maximum ease of use so that it can become part of my daily routine. Too complicated and I knew it would sit unused. I also had no desire to buy a Bluetooth scale, for pete's sake. This app has exactly what I need, and it has become an important part of my weight loss project. It graphs your weight loss on various time scales, calculates trends, tracks progress to the goal. That is all I want, and it really helps to see the graphed long-term trend independent of short-term bumps and dips. These graphed results are a daily encouragement. I do recommend getting the paid version so that you can include notes with your weight entries. It doesn't cost much, and it really helps to be able to record what you are wearing, what you have eaten, and other data that help interpreting the numbers.
