This app provides you with as few or as many reflections as you would like. The backgrounds are beautiful. If you want to send them to your daughter or whomever you can take a screen capture by simultaneously clicking the power and home button on your phone. Then the picture will be in your photos. If the ads bother you you can buy the paid version. Highly recommend.

While I love this app for its positive qualities, as a scholar of the Buddhist cannon (the nikayas) it is hard to ignore the fact that many of these quotes are not actually a part of the Buddhist religion, and have no actual root in the cannon of Buddhist scripture. I cannot say where they come from, but I can only comment that amongst the Theravada Buddhist monastic community we have had a good laugh or two at the inaccuracy of some of these 'quotes' that actually cannot be found to be words spoken by the Buddha.
