Reviews: What People Think About Kinnu: Superpower learning

Thank you so much for making a free learning app with no ads and no subscriptions. There are far too many apps out there that force subscriptions down your throat, as if yet another subscription is what I need in my life on top of everything else. And even if you try the free version, it’s basically unusually because you get an ad every other minute, so you can’t even enjoy them. But this app sets itself apart from all those other micro-learning apps because it truly cares about helping people learn. Those other apps, however, solely exist for profit. Not this one. Thank you so much for actually caring about making a fun and engaging app that makes knowledge and learning accessible to everyone, including those who simply can’t afford having yet another subscription to worry about. Please never change this app into one that requires subscriptions or drowns you in ads like all the rest do.

I live this app. I really can’t believe that it is free and no adds for one. In only 5 minutes a day I have been able to learn about topics I have always been interested in but never really had the time to research or find study material on my own. I love the new information I am learning! Also it has a great audio feature too! I have dyslexia and it is always intimidating when there is a lot of reading involved. That has caused me to not spend time on other apps or books. Kinnu has a feature that reads the material to you which makes it a whole lot easier for me to follow along and understand what is being addressed and doesn’t cause me to re-read or get discouraged when dealing with the material.

a small amount of the content is incorrect, such as kinnu’s definition of human exceptionalism in the animal intelligence category. that topic also felt a little agenda pushy to me since it brought up a Christian teaching of how God gave humans dominion over animals, then tried to imply that this was an invalid hierarchy using their false definition of human exceptionalism lol. but in some other categories, the language remains unbiased, even when discussing sensitive topics such as religious beliefs. it just needs to be more consistent. technicality wise, the app is a little buggy. for most of the info i’ve already “strengthened” in the app, it stays there and remains as something i’m going to forget soon even if i had just practiced it. then i have to answer those same questions each and every time i go to do the daily refresher. i have like 20+ questions in there now that have been repeating for over a week which makes it difficult to check out the new topics because it’ll just crowd the refresher even more.
