Reviews: What People Think About Longleaf Valley: Merge Game

Of the “fill orders” type of merge-two game, I’ve played many and Longleaf Valley is my favorite from a gameplay standpoint. The writing is okay, and it often takes a while to get to the next dialogue point so the story isn’t a strong point. I also can’t say I fully understand the mechanism by which my playing plants trees. But, most importantly, it’s a joy to play. With the free daily items alone, it’s easy to amass a big store of energy and get lots of item chests if you’re willing to be patient, and on top of that there’s always events running that also award items. I really enjoy the relative complexity of interactive items like the beehive and the teapot. The generators are very generous with plenty of high-level drops as well as more than one way to speed up recovery time. I rarely feel like the devs are being stingy to force people to spend money. (And not feeling forced to do so is what makes me happy to drop some money from time to time, for all the enjoyment I get from the game.) The icons are also very attractive: The food all looks delicious and the trees are beautiful! The only thing I miss from other merge games is something that lets you divide an item into two items of a lower level (scissors, cutting board, etc.).

I heard good things about this app from the celebrities who have endorsed it but let me tell ya that it actually a boring 🥱 app that has you on the “energy limit” which makes an already high boring app even worse because you can’t get anything done. Yeah, 👍 you can get stars or something to make your park better but it’s just so much you have to go through just to plant a bush by river/creek. It’s not worth my time, money or energy anymore to try to make a difference in your own way but it’s not worth the restraints!! I have not reached the level that the app says will help plant “Real Trees” because I refuse to give in to their constant “asks” <—- to put mildly, for my Real Money to get more “energy” when in fact they need your money to try to show you that they are keeping their word on the Trees!! Nope & not today, tomorrow or next month will I spend a dime on what I can see is a scam. BTW: Ask the person A.M. if she’s ever Honestly, hand on bible, played the game @ all. If so, how far did she go, before becoming a PAID SPOKESPERSON for the App! I’m guessing she’s not played it, she just did it for the money she would make. I love A.M. but this is a common theme for apes to recruit actors and sports stars to push an app for them.

My sibling convinced me to download this merge game a little less than a month ago and I am absolutely in love. Besides the already great premise that playing plants trees, the art is lovely and the storyline (although a small bit annoying at Jim’s cliffhangers in the beginning) is engaging, interesting, and fun. The only two characters I’ve encountered so far have *so much* personality to them, and I laugh every time a joke from several quests ago resurfaces for them to tease or talk about. My only qualm with it is that I wish there was a way to look back at previous conversations, but I honestly wouldn’t mind replaying the game from the beginning just to get that dialogue again. I’m thinking about using some of the back-and-forth as examples to coax more friends into playing the game, to be honest. God, I could say so much about this game. I can really tell that love and care went into its development, from the faun wearing a scarf to the greedy toad that hides in the lilly pads. Thanks so much for this game.
