Agree with other reviewer that the app simply will not connect even if phone is on the proper network.
Additional: FINALLY got it to connect. Turn OFF car Wi-Fi. It will still take MANY tries to connect. Once it does, you can set direct connection or connect to car Wi-Fi and it will then connect pretty reliably. Bumping up to 2 stars because once you get past the initial horror show it does work ok.

I experienced the same frustration that a lot of reviewers have expressed, that the app would not connect to the Porsche Tequipment dashcam. I discovered a workaround that appears to work. Close the Porsche dashcam app completely then disable both Bluetooth and cellular access for the Porsche Dashcam through your phone’s settings. Reopen the Porsche dashcam app and it should now connect. When it connects, it’s very stable. The app needs some work but so far so good! BTW, the dashcam still records even if it doesn’t connect to the app. You just need to retrieve the footage from the microSD card through a microSD card reader.

After hours at the dealer, hours at home, hours reading and searching the internet, I gave up. $2000 in cameras that even Porsche can’t seem to get to work. Save yourself the time and frustration, buy something else.
After days at the dealer, found out the cameras will not work with a phone on T-Mobile. Switched to Verizon and the app worked. Verified this with 4 phones from dealership employees. Only carrier that worked was Verizon regardless of the maker or version of the phone.
