Reviews: What People Think About WQED-FM
Yazemboski
Rating: 5/5
Hi, I am Michael Yazemboski. I am a senior at Mars High School and love listening to classical music during quarantine and while I sleep. Especially since I am from Valencia Pennsylvania, country, pop, rap, etc... do not agree with me. On an average I spend 2-4 hours listening to classical music on YouTube, but now that I have watched and listened to just about every classical music videos and it gets boring listening to the same piece over again. Now I am the type of person who also enjoys learning and teaching/explaining history and this radio station has both. This station is located in the heart of Pittsburgh and my mother works as an executive director of conferences and events services and pre-college summer studies and has worked and improved CMU’s summer college programs for about 23 years. Just before the Corona virus made its way into PA, she met one of the employees working for WQED and promised me that she would have him give a private tour of the station. But sadly it has been about 1 year since that promise due to quarantine and I hope that this summer I would be able to explore the wonders of my favorite station from my childhood and to be able to see where Mr. Rodger’s Neighborhood was filmed.

This app needs fine tuning and upgrades on your end. Constantly rebuffers, even on WiFi, and says streams are unavailable. I have had to restart my phone on several occasions to get the app to work better and also have reinstalled the app once. All other streaming apps on my iPhone work fine. Please consider upgrading your existing app more often for faster speed in case there’s too many using the app and what’s giving multiple users connection issues. I grew up on WQED-FM so I have high hopes for you to get the kinks out of the app so that it works better for me going forward.

I really like having a dedicated app for listening. It’s great, but only when it connects.
I can understand the occasional failure to connect in a marginal cellular area.
When the music drops out in an area where multiple cellular towers are visible... I think someone should know about this.
I use the app on my drive home at night to a distance where the regular FM signal weakens.
