UPDATE: I can never figure out how to log in on new devices. Even though I've now paid for all of the expansions twice, I still can't use them half the time because I just can't log in. I've been patient, but it hasn't been fixed. Not okay. ORIGINAL: Great UX overall. A wonderful digital Dominion. I wish you could filter to EXCLUDE cards, and I have no idea why it has to be impossible to find a place to log in on a new device. I hope they fix these two little (kinda huge sometimes) issues.
I honestly love the app. Really user friendly and a great way to play dominion on the go! Unfortunately, I find I run into a fair amount of players (60% or so) that tend to make the game not fun to play. I would say I’m slightly better than average but definitely not a pro, and I’m also not a sore loser... But a lot of people will just load up on attack cards and curse you over and over again, and make it impossible for you to do anything. I just played a game where the opponents strategy was basically loading up on militia and minion, making me discard or replace every single hand, and loading up on other cards where they would have 40 card plays (not exaggerating) that included depleting supply piles into the trash. It resulted in a 57 to 7 loss that ended in like 3 minutes. Like I said, I’m not a sore loser, but when you alienate your opponent into having every single hand diminished and being cursed at every turn, and you make it impossible for them to play a decent hand, it makes it completely useless and not fun to play. TL;DR - love the app. Consider whether or not you wanna play with people who take the fun out of it.
I love this game and this app! However, it seems like the update that just went live broke notifications working for me and my wife. UPDATE: I emailed the developer and they were quick to communicate and let me know that a fix was coming. Within only a few days they put another update out and fixed the issue. Hats off to the devs! Great game! I especially love how it is free to play the base game with NO ADS and you can buy expansions if you want (which of course I have, it's well worth it).
I love this game so much let’s get that out of the way. I would appreciate it if the game would keep track of your last game in case you would like to replay the set. Over and over I mean to hit replay set but I hit rematch and there’s no undoing that. The UI looks dated especially in the main menu, it needs a makeover. When playing the game the scale of some of the UI elements are awkwardly small, such as the money and buy trackers, I feel they need to be larger and make use of some of the dead space. When the expansions aren’t filling that space. The game should have a suggestion suggestions/comments/ report bugs button within it, this shows to the audience that the devs are interested in making the game as good it can be and would have been a better place for me to place this comment. The game frequently crashes especially when using some specific cards, I have found this to be common within the plunder expansion. Most of the music in the game is truly bad, the game should give you the option to disable any specific song. I would recommend hiring a better composer and revamping all of the music and adding more songs in general. As of now I just turn off the music. I love this game and I’m hoping this review will be heard by the devs.
Pretty fun! Great to play with a friend or partner. The price for expansions is a tough sell. I can't afford a $100 price tag to unlock them all; even one is too much when I can't tell which set is worth an amount I'd usually pay for a whole mobile game. Dailies let you try new cards, but it feels bad that second tries at those are locked behind a paywall before you even get comfy with the new mechanics. The monetization is for catching "whales," - I'm just a loyal guppy with a tight budget.
I am a regular player of this game online and occasionally in person and I’m very pleased with the mobile integration of the game. Navigation and feel are very smooth. It’s easy to maneuver through the game and still read/be aware of all the details (number of actions/buys/total spending power, card details). You can customize some features (like if the game/move log on the right hand side or hiding it), but I still need to explore other options. The feature and experience are great if you’re familiar with the game. I’m enjoying the game with friends (both online and in person with pass and play), random players, and against the hard AI (which can be quite challenging) I think this is great for new players or those that are interested in learning. This deck building game is definitely a favorite of mine as the game is different every time you play it, so the replay value is great. They have tutorials and I feel the learning curve isn’t too hard. I am very greatful for the convenience, thanks for officially launching this game in mobile 🥳
