Reviews: What People Think About My Brother Rabbit

In a world of beat em up kill em all action games and hidden object super horror games, this is a sweet reminder that games with puzzles can be inventive, imaginative, and have a gentle message. The fantasy is well presented, and the puzzles are simple enough to mostly not need a hint, but they are also challenging enough to need some kind of thought. It is a slightly slower game, so if expecting wild shoot em up stuff, forget it. There is a story line which could make the impatient person frustrated, but the story is important and actually ties into the game better than most I have played. And leads to the deeper dream of the game. The puzzle solutions can be really tricky to find, but all the hints are in the scenes, you just have to remember which scene (or sub-scene!) and apply. (Elevator had me fooled for a bit!). I would love to have more from this team! Refreshing, and short-ish game, so do not expect days of play. Amusing animation , well designed scenes, poignant details. I do think my grand kids will enjoy as well... (9,10,11 ages)

What a clever challenge of a game! I'm thoroughly enjoying it. This game reminds me of some of my top 5 favorites from the past few years: Love you to Bits, Tiny Bang Story, Botanicula, and even the eerie Silent Age. There is no hint feature or strategy guide. I know I can duckduckgo a cheat guide, but I don't want to. I like the tricks and gimmicks and am patient, even if I have to sleep on one and try again the next day. If I fool around with the gadgets long enough, I'll figure it out. There are several 1-star reviews. I want to address those, particularly the one by lynx minx as that player typically gives very helpful reviews. I suspect the 1-star reviewers were expecting the typical action/hidden object/mini game style of prior traditional Artifex Mundi games. The graphic art in this game is colorful and delightful. It's three-dimensional but at first has the appearance of two-dimensional characters reflective of the 5-star games I mentioned above. The intrepid Monument and Monument 2 employ similar graphics. As I'm not a graphics artist, I don't know what style of art this is called. Juvenile? I don't think so. Try this and see if you don't agree that it's captivating and challenging. Don't expect it to be a typical adventure HOG. I would categorize My Brother Rabbit more as a fun and charming logic game. -a retired teacher

This was a lot of fun! My kids and I found the puzzles manageable, although the later levels were a little challenging if they had been doing them without adult help. The story itself was age appropriate even for younger children, and since it didn’t rely on reading text conversations they were able to follow along without too much trouble. The one thing we would have liked was some sort of hint mechanism, even if it were something like having to solve a separate puzzle to get one. There were two or three places where we needed to consult an online walkthrough, which always brings the risk of spoiling yourself on other parts of the game. Aside from that, we all enjoyed it and would definitely buy a sequel or similar game. Thanks!
