Reviews: What People Think About Dark of Alchemist

Trying to find a game that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, to either get the game itself or buy the stuff you need with in app purchases, is a daunting task.
Well, for fans of of the turn based dungeon crawler genre, search no more!
The story is a bit hockey, but that’s the only fault I can see. The game mechanics are easy to understand, the crafting doesn’t get in the way of progression, the ads that DO show up only do so while in the safe zone - never during gameplay, and sometimes only because you hit the “watch an ad” button - which has a LONG cool down btw, so no way to rely on it - and NO IN APP PURCHASES, meaning what you see is what you get, and what you get is a worthy addition to your game library.
One last bit, the game didn’t ask for a review until I beat its first dungeon, not just its first level, so props for that as well!

I like the style of this game. I honestly think it could use more voice overs and some more unique sound effects. Another issue I find in this game is that the items and weapons ware down too fast. I also found that the purpose of the hiding spot and what it would do to your progression on the levels was hard to understand in the beginning and I ended up starting over multiple times on accident before I understood the system that needed to be established in order to sustainably progress. Otherwise I like where this game is going I just think it needs some more diversity. I'm extremely curious to see how it turns out against it's Dungeon Crawling competitors. There are not many ”good” dungeon crawlers games available so I expect this one to use my input to get ahead of the game and set some high standards standards for the commonly underdeveloped genre in app games.

The maze map is nonexistent and the combat is simplistic, and at first you think the game is too simple. It's no Silversword, that's for sure! But it's challenging in its own way! Inventory management is critical and you'll face tough choices -- throw away the food, the weapon, or the magic stone? Keep the steel you'll need to make a shield or the healing herb? Soon you'll find yourself using your level up bonus on a larger backpack rather than more life (hit points). Really interesting take on the genre and a terrific and challenging free game!
About Dark of Alchemist
This game is an action-packed dungeon crawler RPG set in an old castle with a dark and foreboding atmosphere.
■Risking your life to explore
As the main character of this game, you are not some burly soldier or skilled sorcerer. As you battle monsters, even the small fry faced at the beginning can defeat you if you're not careful. To survive, you'll have to pay close attention to your surroundings and use a variety of tactics, sometimes hiding and sometimes delivering a surprise attack that leaves your enemies mortally wounded.
■Gaining strength through item alchemy
In this game, you must make all the essential equipment and healing items for your journey by yourself. As you explore the dungeon, combine the materials you find to transmute items. Craft powerful items and you'll be able to defeat enemies you couldn't handle before.
■Continually think of the best possible plan
You will be forced to make lots of decision to survive. Do you move forward or retreat? Fight or hide? Which items will you pick up, and which will you leave behind? Each choice you make will affect your survival rate.
■Dark fantasy world
Your father, the king and a great alchemist, was killed by a god from another world. You have returned to his abandoned castle to obliterate his murderer and get your revenge.
The castle interior is overrun with monsters, and there are also explorers of uncertain character searching for treasure inside.
Using the alchemy skills you learned from your father, will you be able to reach toe the top floor where the god who murdered him lies in wait...?
