Played for a couple of months and was able to maintain rank 13-15 depending on the day w/o paying. If you get the daily missions/war down to a science there are hundreds of diamonds to be had each day without sign-in bonuses or purchasing diamonds. This process can be done in around 90 minutes per day spread out however suits you when “grinding”. Hoarding my resources for the big events paid out, had two top-tier characters and was able to somewhat compete by saving until I had 20k diamonds and pumping them all into events when the rewards matched my needs. Was able to do this 3 times in 2 months, like the developer says there really are a lot of diamonds to be had if you try. I stopped when I finished an event in 1st place, which would have netted me a third SSS (top quality/God character) and some legit equipment but sadly only 1 of the 6 rewards came in the mail. There are supposed to be 3 rewards for finishing first in Cross Server (event) and 3 for Local Server but I only got 1. This was 5 weeks worth of saved up diamonds so I wasn’t about to grind on the chance if not getting a return. The Grand General seemed to work great though and this failure to receive event rewards is my only gripe. Ultimately this is the most fun mobile game since Adventure of heroes, particularly if Dynasty Warriors is nostalgic at all for you. I hope for more games of this style in the future.

While this game is wildly fun and addictive due to its playing style and animations/art. This game won’t get more than 2 stars out of me. Mainly for that fact that this game is heavily based on your wallet. Sure you can get to a certain point as a f2p(free-to-play) player but it wouldn’t get you far in both multiplayer and story mode. There’s about 99 chapters in this game and you’ll get to 40 as a f2p if you’ve grinded this game as hard as dirt. And you’d still be below or not even qualified within the multiplier aspect. The levels get ridiculously hard by chapters 43+. As if they’re telling you to buy more packs of diamonds to get better cards. Oh let’s not forget the cards. If you have anything lower than ranking SS+ then don’t even think about advancing far. The f2p player would probably get 3-4 SS+ freely without spending a dime but again, you won’t get far and it’s because of my next point. How you obtain cards in this game is honestly a sin of its own. SSS is the highest ranking of any card and the only means of getting these cards is to spend literally over $100 (no exaggeration) and that’ll be for ONE card. Yea you can’t get SSS cards anywhere else unless it involves either diamonds or one of their crappy reward systems. Oh it’s not too bad though, to get that SSS card you’d have to spend 50,000 diamonds in game. If you look at the packs....that’s literally over $200 in game. And no one casually has 50,000 diamonds just hoarding, especially f2p players which their diamond reign will sharply decline and force them to advance using money. The equipments follow the same algorithm. The game is full of glitches, of a character dies sometimes, their body would still linger and attack even when dead (my main issue with the mechanic of the death system). I can go on about the glitches but I highly encourage the developers to retest this game. It feels like a rush get rich scheme instead of an actual game. Oh and updates? Nah it’s butchered just like the rewards system. All they do is introduce new strong SSS cards that can only be obtained through means of money and not grinding at all (it’ll tell you the card is invisible for now). This is all coming from a level 88 with VIP 11. I’ve been playing for quite some time and didn’t want to review this game until I was at my breaking point.

With this style of combat, it needs to be turn based. I don’t want to just watch my team fight or just push a skill when it’s charged. I want to be in control and be able to strategically outwit the opponents. You spend all the time and resources to make a video clip that replays my team doing the same thing over and over again while I watch.
